Ballooning 2000


Rainer and family took over the reins at Ballooning 2000 after Jean-Marc Culas sold up on 31.03.2002.

These days Rainer is manager and chief pilot of Ballooning 2000 in Baden-Baden.

He was born in Baden-Baden on 15. January 1965. He discovered his love for ballooning in 1981 while attending a balloon meeting in Baden-Baden in which over 90 balloons participated.

This meeting was organised by Jean-Marc Culas.

He became a member of the crew in 1983 and since 1985 he has been a qualified balloon pilot, amassing in the meantime in excess of 2000 flying hours including flights in the Sahara over Marrakech, in Bolivia Salar de Uyuni, Lake Titikaka, at the Expo in Seville, Madrid and Barcelona, over the Austrian and Swiss Alps, over the French Cote d`Azur and Provencal and taken part in the large balloon meetings staged in the French town Metz.

He has flown week long promotion tours throughout Germany using both large and small balloons for such companies as Nestlé, Knorr and Bahlsen. The current flagship of this fleet is the 8.500 m3  Siemens balloon which is used to fly in a Ballooning Europe Tour.
